Shipping policyShipping is included in the listed Palapa kit price unless otherwise stated - by Estes Express Lines wherever they serve the 48 Contiguous States in the U.S.
Shipping charges apply for all other items. Depending upon size and weight, air service is available upon request for some packages. Please contact our Sales Staff for a rate quote if a 1 or 2 day air delivery is necessary (Palapa kits do not ship by air - they must go standard ground).

Product Inspection
We hope that your order arrives safely and that you are satisfied with
your purchase. However, please remember that when the order arrives it
is your responsibility to ensure that the product has not been damaged
by the freight company while in transit.
In the presence of the driver, inspect the packages for external damage.
If there is any damage, you must indicate such on the delivery receipt.
If possible, take photographs of the damaged packaging before you open
it.
Remember, the only way to claim damage is if you have noted it on your delivery ticket. If the damage is severe enough to render the product unusable, please refuse the shipment and contact us immediately at (858) 272-1598.
Federal Express: Smaller deliveries are occasionally left on your
doorstep: if the packaging is severely damaged, please contact us immediately
(no more than 48 hours). Do not open the package and if possible, take
photographs of the exterior damage. We will arrange for Federal Express
to retrieve the package.
For severely damaged packages that are to be returned to us, it is important
that you contact us either by email or phone no more than 48 hours after
the date of delivery or you will be charged a restocking and shipping
fees.
Interior damage or incomplete shipments: Please inspect the inside of your package(s) immediately upon receipt. Should you find any discrepancies, you must notify us within 5 days of receipt of your shipment. We cannot assume responsibility beyond this point.
Package Shortages: Check the number of pieces delivered and make sure that the number received matches the number stated on the freight company’s delivery paperwork. You must write any shortages on the driver’s receipt copy. This is the only way that a missing package can be located or replaced.
5-day policy
We will not replace damaged goods or shortages after 5 days of receipt
of materials that have not been clearly marked on both delivery receipts
(yours and freight service driver) or handled as described within our
shipping and product inspection policies.

Expedited
Orders and Rush Delivery
If you would like to expedite your order and rush deliver a product, please
call our Sales Department to inquire about product lead-time and availability.
If an item is in stock, it will usually ship out in 1 or 2 days. A special
order item, such as a palapa kit, when not in stock, usually require up
to two weeks to process. This can be expedited - a rush fee will apply.
All kits are shipped by ground service. Other items, when shipped by
Federal Express ground, can be upgraded to an "air" delivery.

Sales tax
We do not collect sales tax on items purchased at tropicalshade.net, except
for deliveries within California charged a 7.25% state sales tax which
is calculated during checkout.
